OC asked to probe sexual assault on underage youth

In a rare judgement, Special Judge POCSO Imphal West Court has directed Officer-in-Charge of Imphal police station to investigate a case of alleged sexual assault on an underaged youth by a 37-year-old married woman.
According to sources, the petition was filed by mother of the underaged youth in the Court on February 18 last under Section 156 (3) CrPC praying for giving direction to investigate the alleged sexual assault and punish the woman according to the law.
The petition stated that the woman identified as Wahengbam Khumukcham Indira (37) w/o Oken of Kumbi Terakhong presently staying at 1st MR family line who is a neighbour of the complainant were known to each other as they stay in the same colony.
It further stated that the woman used to come to the complainant's house frequently and her husband once came to call the victim to help him on family works.
After the victim failed to return home on February 2, the complainant along with her husband and their two sons searched for him but could not locate him.
Having no option, the victim's father lodged a complaint to OC of Imphal police station on February 3 .
Later it was learnt that the woman kept the underaged youth in a rented house at Kanglatongbi.
With the help of locals, the complainant managed to save the victim on February 10 .
The woman threatened that she would defame the life of the victim if he does not marry her otherwise he has to pay Rs 50 lakh to her.
The woman with the help of some unknown persons tried to append signature of the complainant on a blank paper which the latter refused, the petition alleged.
