TAKDAL observes 1st foundation day

Thoubal Amasung Kakching District Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) observed its first foundation day at Devi Mandhop Community Hall, Wangjing SK Leikai today.
TAKDAL is an apex body formed by 125 local clubs, organizations and Meira paibi bodies of Kakching and Thoubal districts with an aim to contribute in the process of restoration of peace and harmony in the State which is in turmoil ever since the outbreak of tragic ethnic violence in May 3, 2023.Speaking at the occasion, TAKDAL Chairman Dr Y Bheigyachandra briefed on TAKDAL's role to help in resolving the prevailing conflict and its upcoming activities.
TAKDAL Convenor Jotinkumar Waikhom while delivering the keynote address of the programme spoke on the objectives of TAKDAL and the societal and welfare activities taken up in the past one year.
He deliberated on the importance of establishing an apex body of local bodies of Kakching and Thoubal district amid the challenging phase of the conflict in the State.
As a part of the programme, the attendees observed one-minute silence in the honour of the conflict martyrs.
Traditional shawls were also presented to leaders of local bodies, civil society organizations (CSOs) and Meirapaibis of TAKDAL.
Advisors of TAKDAL and members of TAKDAL including Dr Y Bheigyachandra; N Modhu; K Michael, Dr Renu Devi; Y Rajendra; L Subashl; Sh Tamphamani Devi; Dr Ak Bojen; N Munal Meitei; Dr Ng Devekama; Dr N Rajivkumar and Kh Jotin among others graced as the presidium members.
TAKDAL also extended gratitude to all who provided aid for the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
