Imphal, July 21 2014: All Kiyamgei Nupi Chaokhat Lup staged a sit-in-protest at Kiyamgei Maning Leikai against the unnatural death of Leimapokpam (O) Roma Devi at JNIMS.

Protesters held placards that read as 'Punish Dr Bidhumukhi' and 'We decry death of Roma' .

A woman protester said that the act of placing the body of Roma at the residence of Dr Bidhumukhi was a warning against injustice and alleged high headed behaviour of the doctors.

The step did not mean to hurt the sentiments of the locality of Haobam Marak Chongtham Leikai but it was done to teach Dr Bidhumukhi a lesson for the future, said the woman leader.

If the doctors had done their work in a calm and sincere manner, this problems would not have happened, she added.

Roma's husband L Sunday (37) said, five days have passed from Roma's death.

It is hard to believe and really shocking to know that Dr Bidhumukhi and her colleagues has not spoken a single word.

He also urged all the expecting mothers of the State not to consult Dr Bidhumukhi.

He also appealed the authorities concerned to give befitting punishment to Dr Bidhumukhi.

It may be mentioned that Leimapokpam Roma (34) of Kiyamgei Maning Leikai died on the intervening night of July 15 after she was discharged from the hospital due to breathlessness.
