FATYCM ready to launch agitation

Apart from submitting a memorandum to the concerned minister, the Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur (FATYCM) has conveyed its readiness to launch democratic form of agitation against the authority for delaying disbursement of Post-Matric scholarship.
Speaking to media persons today at the Manipur Press Club, FATYCM president, R Ashing said the authority has delayed the PMS for the academic year 2011-12 for reason best known to the authority.
Reiterating that the body would launch democratic form of agitation in days ahead if the authority does not act positively, he said the body is well-prepared to launch various democratic form of protest.
Stating that the delay in disbursal of PMS has caused many hardships and affected the poorer section of the society, Ashing also drawn the attention of the authority concerned in this regard.
Meanwhile, alleging that an amount to the tune of Rs 7 crore meant for medical fund under TD 2008-09 had been diverted for Airport expansion, Ashing demanded that the same be refunded at the earliest.
Functionaries of FATYCM and scholarship affected students have also attended the press meet today.
The tribal body had earlier threatened to enforce economic blockade for delay in disbursement of PMS.
