CPI calls for free and fair election

The Manipur State Council-Communist Party of India stated that it will campaign for free and fair conduct of election as MLA Election approaches.
A press release issued by the party said that a meeting was convened yesterday at the office of Kakching Local Council-CPI.
The meeting was attended by State secretary, L Sotinkumar; National executive member, Dr M Nara and former Minister Th Tomba.
During the meeting it was decided to constitute a local election campaign committee consisting members of every booth in Kakching Assembly Constituency and launch election campaign from August 23 in line with the 73rd foundation day celebration of the party, it said.
The meeting also discussed to launch campaign against ill practises adopted by rich peoples to lure voters, against those who lacks political commitments and indulge in shifting parties for personal gains during month-long commemoration of party founder Lamyanba Irabot during whole of September, it said.
During the month-long campaign, CPI will advocate for free and fair conduct of election and action against defectors, it continued.
