The NSCN-IM has alleged the Ibobi led Manipur Government of paying 3% of every fund to the Valley based revolutionary armed groups while the privilege was denied to the NSCN-IM.
Col S John, General Account Officer, NSCN-IM stated in the press release that the Manipur Govt denied the privilege of paying 3% to NSCN-IM on the pretext that the outfit is holding political talks as separate entity and NSCN-IM has every right to collect taxes and function its own government and has sole authority to control over land, resources and any developmental work in the tribal areas.
"NSCN-IM has no intention to hamper the developmental activities of tribal areas but it has to be made clear that anyone taking up contract works without obtaining the recommendation of the outfit shall be doing on their own risk," the NSCN-IM said.
"Recommendation issued to competent contractors for undertaking any kind of contract work in tribal areas shall be strictly implemented at all costs," it added.
Any competent tribal who is intending to undertake contract work in the tribal areas must obtain prior recommendation, it said.
