Election campaign commences

Intending candidate Ayangbam Oken from Sekmai AC has kicked off his election campaign today along with taking out a youth rally in connection with the upcoming 12th Legislative Assembly election slated for early next year.
The campaign was flagged off from his residence at Kanglatombi Dispensary near Sekmai Bottling Plant with the goal of bringing about a better Sekmai AC.
A vehicle rally was taken out across all localities of the AC along with the launch of a poster campaign.
Huge number of supporters of A Oken turned up for the rally on bikes and four wheelers holding posters and flags with " We support A Oken" printed on them.
It may be noted that the election campaign will reach across all 41 polling stations and around 25 villages in Sekmai.
Addressing the gathering, A Oken stated that his motivation behind contesting in the upcoming election was the welfare and improvement of Sekmai AC.
Expressing gratitude towards his supporters, he vowed to work in accordance with the wants and needs of the people.
He lauded the incumbent representative of Sekmai AC for repairing the bridge and road leading to Kanto village, Sekmai.
However, he said it was unfortunate that substandard materials were used for construction to cut corners and make profit.
A Oken further stated that if people elect him as their representative, he would never compromise on quality in the projects he undertakes.
Further, he also vowed to form a monitoring team that will keep a close watch on the state of roads and calculate the estimated costs of repair or construction.
