Imphal, August 19 2018:
Denouncing "possible extension" of Article 371A of the Indian Constitution to other States including Manipur and boundary dispute with Myanmar, Shiv Sena Manipur State Unit (SSMSU) staged a sit-in protest in front of its office at Babupara today.
Speaking to media persons at the sit-in, president of Shiv Sena Manipur State Unit said that the "introduction" of Article 371 A in the peace talk between Government of India and the NSCN IM has caused confusion and triggered alarm to the people of the State.
The article is exclusively only for the State of Nagaland and it cannot be exercised in other State including Manipur.
It should never be extended to Manipur, he cautioned the Centre.
The Government of India is deceiving the people of Manipur by keeping the Framework Agreement, it had signed with NSC IM, a secret, he said.
The Government of India cannot "give away" land that belong to the State to "appease" Myanmar Government, he asserted and continued that the disputed border pillar 81 has been erected about 3 km inside the State/National boundary.
The intention of the Government of India has opened the aged wound of giving away Kabaw Valley.
The Centre must work in the interest of the people of the State.
The State and Central Government should never deny the fact that there is a boundary dispute with Myanmar.
Governments should never "deceive" its own people, he said.
"It will be wrong to say that the Shiv Sena and BJP in Manipur are not working together.
But Shiv Sena will always stand for and with the people," he said.
