Imphal, April 19 2017: Troops of Veng Battalion under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles of Red Shield Division apprehended two arms dealer during an operation on April 15 .

The operation was launched after receiving input about presence of arms dealers in Bungmol village.

Suankhan Khual (47) s/o (L) Kamkhenthang of Gochinkhup village, Churachandpur and Dalkhan Lian (38), s/o Gindo Lian of Gochinkhup village, Churachandpur district were apprehended by the troops.

The two apprehendees revealed that they were involved in smuggling of arms to various UG gropus in Churachandpur district and were involved in various nefarious activities.

One M-16 assault rifle, one M-16 magazine, two mobile phones with two Airtel SIM cards and Rs 10,300 were also recovered.
