BVP, AMDDA team call on Governor

Representatives of Bharat Vikash Parishad (BVP) and All Manipur Dalit Development Association (AMDDA) called on Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan in Imphal today.
Professor Premjit Singh, Regional Manager, Bharat Vikash Parishad along with five representatives called on Governor and apprised him about the various philanthropic activities taken up by the Parishad, said a release issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
He said that as a part of the Anaemia Free India campaign, various health camps have been organized and detected cases have also been treated.
Additionally, tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids etc have been distributed.
While appreciating the philanthropic activities of the Parishad, the Governor urged them to collaborate with the Raj Bhavan in the Anaemia Free India campaign and assured support to any initiatives taken up by the Parishad.
The Governor also asked them to organize youth-oriented programmes.
Separately, leading a 10-member team of All Manipur Dalit Development Association, president Dr TM Rajen Ayangba called on the Governor and apprised him about the issues faced by the Dalits in the State.
While discussing various Central schemes, Governor asked the team to submit a detailed report of how many people of the community have been deprived of such schemes.
The Governor also assured them that Raj Bhavan will extend its support.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Dr TM Rajen said that the Association submitted a memorandum to the Governor.
The memorandum lists appeals for construction of houses for the poor, allotting land to die landless folks and sanctioning more funds for the farmers, among others.
