Imphal, July 18 2014 : Loktak Power Station, NHPC Ltd has conducted the 8th batch of Free cataract Operation on Thursday at Shija Hospital and Research Institute, Imphal where 12 cataract cases were operated successfully under the project "Netra Jyoti" of its Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development (CSR & SD) activities, it said in press release.

Free medicine, subsidised cost of operation with foldable IOL, transportation and also food for the patients were provided by NHPC Ltd.

Free spectacles shall be distributed to the cataract operated cases.

During the current financial year, 80 cataract cases have been operated successfully in eight batches, it said.
