CRPF battles COVID-19 by reaching out to the needy

143 Bn of CRPF, Headquartered in Imphal has undertaken several such drives in the recent days.
On April 12, a team of CRPF jawans led by Commandant Lalkhokam Lhoujem and his second in command Ravindra Mallik distributed food packets in Naoremthong Hulen Leikai Village, Lamphelpat and also disinfected the subject village using sodium hypochlorite solution, said a statement of PIB.
It may be mentioned that the food packets contain utility items meant to help the families ward off this period of crisis.
Each packet contains rice (5kg), dal (2kg), refined oil, salt, milk, biscuits, masks, sanitiser, hand gloves and vitamin-c tablets, it conveyed adding that 30 poor families of Motbung Village, Kangpokpi on April 14, apart from disinfecting the subject village using sodium hypochlorite solution.
It also said, On April 15, 50 poor families of Irang Village, Noney were covered.
Jawans also disinfected the village and conducted an awareness session as well.
On 16th, 20 poor families of Khongsang Village, Noney were helped and the unit disinfected the village.
Yesterday, personnel of 143 Bn visited and distributed food packets to 22 poor families of Merrylane and Nungba Village, Noney, added the statement.
