Imphal, March 18 2021: Kakching District Police arrested two persons with suspected heroin from Langthabal Khunou under the jurisdiction of Khongjom PS yesterday around 8 pm .

The arrested persons are identified as Satminlun Kipgen (24 yrs) from T Nampao in Chandel district and Seikholen Haokip (19 yrs) from Khonomphai village, Moreh in Tengnoupal district.

The two persons came in a Maruti Gypsy without registration number while a team of CDO Kakching District Police conducted frisking and checking in Langthabal Khunou area yesterday acting on a reliable input, said police.

They were arrested after the team chased them since they did not stop when asked to do so by the police.

On further checking the vehicle, 69 soap cases containing suspected heroin were found.

Later the arrested persons along with the seized items were handed over to Khongjom PS for further investigation.

Meanwhile, a team of NAB Police Station arrested a person with 14.80 kg of opium from Nongbram Mayai Leikai today.

The arrested person is identified as Lalam Haokip (36) of Saichang in Kangpokpi district.
