Imphal, March 17 2019:
With an objective to spread the principles and ideas of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot and to promote his beliefs on bringing unification and equality in the society, Manipur Proletariat Peoples' Democratic Union (MPPDU), Socialist Woman Association (SWA) Manipur, Young Communist League (YCL) and Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) will be organising Ahanba Manipur Khunai Meepham (1st National Convention on Socialism) on April 2 .
Young Communist League has conveyed that necessary preparation has been made to organise the convention and appealed to all the people to extend maximum support in making the convention successful.
Speaking to media persons at SSUM office in Keishampat today, YCL convenor Wahengbam Kameshor said that different organisation have come together to organise the first convention on socialism, to strive for equality in the society.
Even though many memorial observations of Lamyanba Irabot are organised at various parts of the State every year, the number of individual or organisation which actually try to take initiative of making Lamyanba irabot's dreams and beliefs into a reality is quite rare.
He maintained that the time has come for all to have a threadbare deliberation on probable measures or steps that can be taken up to transform Lamyanba's dream into action and bring equality in the society.
Noting that paying tributes to the photo/statues of Lamyanba or presenting patriotic songs during his memorial observation are not enough to bring the difference that he desired, Kameshor said that the lifestyle of the people living in today's society are varying at a great height adding that some section of the society are struggling for two meals in a day while some are getting richer with ethical means.
"Who will fight for equality if majority of the people are struggling for two meals in a day.
This is the bigger question", said Kameshor and thus all the people should take part in the convention to discuss the matter at hand.
He appealed all organisation leaders to also take part in the convention.
