Multipurpose community hall for IDPs inaugurated

A newly constructed multipurpose community hall was inaugurated today and handed over to the people by Moirang AC MLA Th Shanti Singh and Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur.
The multipurpose community hall was constructed to facilitate the internally displaced persons staying at the Pre-Fabricated Houses of Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute Relief Camp in conducting any social gatherings or cultural events.
The inaugural function was jointly organised by Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute Pre Fabricated House Relief Camp Committee and Meitei Society, Churachandpur.
The inaugural event was attended by Moirang Assembly Constituency MLA, Th Shanti Singh and Meitei Society, Churachandpur, president, Moirangthem Thoiba as chief guests along with the inmates of the relief camp.
Speaking at the event, Th Shanti stated that the community hall was inaugurated as per the request of the IDPs who face a lot of inconvenience in holding any social gatherings.
Therefore, to help them conduct social gatherings or any outreach programmes, the community hall was constructed with priority and handed to people, said Th Shanti.
He continued that if the village volunteers or the Meira Paibis did not band together to protect and safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur, Manipur might have been reduced to fragments.
He also assured the people that a new popular Government will be formed soon and urged the people not to engage in mud-slinging but instead work together for public welfare.
He further assured the IDPs to extend all possible support to alleviate the hardships they are facing in the relief camp and to assist in organising the upcoming Yaoshang sports festival at the Pre-Fabricated Houses at Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute.
