Bishnupur, August 16 2023: Remembering the heroic sacrifice made by Pebam Chitaranjan with regards to movement against Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), the 19th Students' Martyrdom Day was observed today at the Students' Martyrdom complex in Bishnupur and at Bishnupur Bazar.

Befitting tributes were paid to the renowned student leader who immolated himself in August 15, 2004 denouncing the inhumane AFSPA during the observation organised by the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) Headquarters.

Today's observation was graced by Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup President L Memchoubi; Committee on Human Rights Manipur Chairman Phulindro Konsam; AMUCO President Ph Nando Luwang; President-in-Charge MSF Headquarters Hijam Roshan and other eminent CSOs and student leaders.

Speaking at the occasion, Hijam Roshan recalled the supreme sacrifice made by Athouba Pebam Chitaranjan against the AFSPA, the black law.

He affirmed that MSF will continue to stand such inhumane acts of the Government in the interest of the common people.
