As part of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign held across India, a one day training programme for volunteer trainers was held today at Keinou Thongkha Community Hall.
The training programme jointly organised by DSWO Bishnupur, SUA, SLCA, MOSJE and NLSD was attended by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights, chairperson, Keisham Pradipukuma, DSWO Bishnupur, N Jotish, District Sports Association Bishnupur, president, L Naba and SLCA Manipur director, Dr A Jayantakumar as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, MCPCR chairperson, Keisham Pradipkumar stated that "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" was launched across India in 272 districts, including 9 districts in Manipur to make a drug-free society.
Such a campaign was held to spread awareness to the people and promote a drug free environment.
He continued that since the beginning of the ethnic conflict in the State, the number of drug users among youths is rapidly increasing in the State.
Urging the youth to stay away from drugs, he emphasized the importance of collective effort of the CSOs, Meira Paibis and organisations in combating drug addiction to save the youths of the State.
Today's training programme was also attended by various youths from Keinou and neighbouring villages.
