Golden jubilee celebration begins

Chandel, January 16 2020: A 2-day golden jubilee celebration of Tampi Youth Club Chakpikarong, began today at Akanglon, Tampi Village under Chandel District.

Conducted under the theme "Honouring our Past, Inspiring our Future", the inaugural programme was participated by Autonomous District Council and District Rural Development Agency, Chandel Chairman, D Ringo Lamkang; 41-Chandel Assembly Constituency ex-MLA, St Victor Nunghlung; ADC Chandel members Willingdon Tongsin; DY Holngam; Chakpikarong SDO/BDO, Seiminthang Lenthang and Tampi Village chief, St Thumvar as the presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, D Ringo Lamkang said that local club is a powerful institution which has the potential to improve the socio-economic condition of the community through several small initiatives.

He also urged the club's members to guide the youths so that they could become a valuable citizen.

Later, D Ringo Lamkang unveiled the memorial stone and also released a souvenir.

Several cultural items were showcased on the opening day and gifts and mementoes were presented to the dignitaries present by the club's officials.

Presidents of several CSOs such as CNPO, NSUC, ANTA, ASR, ALT general headquarter; social worker TS Belton; ex-ADC Chandel Member, SR Volhring and UNC speaker, WS Karnal among others.
