Chandel, November 15 2019: Manju Diler, Member, National Commission for Safai Karamcharies and Manual Scavengers visited Chandel district yesterday.

She interacted with the Safai Karamcharies and the DLOs at the conference hall of Mini Secretariat, Chandel district.

During the meeting, she inquired about the facilities rendered to Safai Karamcharies and informed about various central schemes launched for them.

She informed that there are around 16 central schemes, under the Labour Department, which are 100 percent subsidies for the benefits of the labourers.

She continued that there are about 40 different categories of labourers including manual scavengers, Safai Karamcharies and even Auto drivers and advised all the labourers to get themselves registered so that they can avail all the schemes introduced by the Government.

Manju Diler also asked all the district level officers to raise awareness among all the labourers and to make sure that all labourers are registered.

The meeting was attended by Addl DC Chinglenkhomba Meitei, AC to DC Yaiphaba Longjam and all the DLOs, other official and Safai Karamcharies of the district.
