Curfew relaxed till noon in valley districts

Imphal, September 14 2024: In view of the developing law and order situation in the state, total curfew was imposed in three valley districts, while the curfew relaxation period in one district was shortened from 5am till 2.30pm .

Meanwhile, curfew has been relaxed for all the valley districts from 5 am till 12 noon on Sunday.

According to the orders issued by the respective district magistrates of Imphal East, Imphal West, and Thoubal districts on Saturday, the prohibitory relaxation period for Saturday stands cancelled with immediate effect from 2pm.There will be prohibition of movement of persons outside their respective residences in all three valley districts with immediate effect and until further orders.

Meanwhile, the district magistrate of Bishnupur district issued an order, informing that the curfew relaxation period from 5am to 4pm has been shortened from 5am till 2.30 pm on Saturday.

Another order further informed that there will be curfew relaxation for the district from 5 am to 12 noon.

However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health, PHED, CAF&PD, Municipal ofhcials/staff, telecom and banking, power (MSPD-CL/MSPCL), petrol pumps, media personnel, function of courts and movement of flight passengers to and from the airport, and contract worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) will be exempted from the prohibition.
