JAC submits memorandum

A joint action committee formed against the 'suspicious' death of Thangjam Deepak Meitei has submitted a charter of demands to the Chief Minister through Additional Deputy Commissioner, Moreh today.
The JAC in the memorandum claimed that the deceased had went out from his residence at Moreh Khunou Leikai at around 7.30 pm of April 12 and never returned.
His lifeless body was found on the side of ICP road on April 13 at around 6 am .
Alleging foulplay, the JAC demanded that the post mortem be conducted in presence of Magistrate and a family member with video coverage and the report be apprised to them (JAC).
The family will not claim the body until the case is solved, said the JAC urging the authorities concerned to solve and book all involved within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, TL Heijang village and T Yangnom village have condoled the 'suspicious' death of Thangjam Deepak Meitei (24), son of Late Th Bisharup Meitei from Moreh Khunou Leikai Ward No 9 .
The lifeless body of Thangjam Deepak Meitei was found on the side of ICP road/bypass road which lies between T Yangnom village and TL Heijang village, reports our correspondent.
Village secretary of TL Heijang village, on behalf of the two villages expressed grief and extended solidarity towards the bereaved family members.
On the other hand, T Yangnom, has restricted entry to the village from 6 pm of April 14 to 7 am of April 15 as preventive measure to check the spread of COVID-19 .
