Imphal, January 14 2025: Repertory of Waree Leeba Manipur, Director Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Singh was honoured with the prestigious Master Story Teller Award 2025 at the Udaipur Tales International Story telling Festival on January 11 .

The festival was held at Park Exotica Resort, Udaipur in Rajasthan from January 10 to 12, as per a press release issued by Khomdram Surendra Singh, president, Repertory of Waree Leeba, Manipur.

He received the Master Story Teller Award 2025 award in the category of "Folk Tales (Waree Leeba)" .

Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Singh who has dedicated over 30 years of his life to the narrative art form of Waree Leeba also presented a Waree Leeba demonstration before the gathering at the international festival.

He hails from Khurai Chaithabi Leirak and is the son of Takhellambam Nimaichand Singh and Khambi Devi.

He is also a recipient of Ustad Bishmillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2009.The Repertory has expressed happiness over the Director's achievement.
