Women orgns observe Patriot's Day

Imphal, August 13 2022: The observation committee on 131st Patriot's Day Observation 2022 Manipur jointly observed the 131 st Patriots' Day today.

Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup (AMKIL), All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj) and All Manipur Tammi Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup (Tammi-Chingmi) are members of the observation committee.

The observation began at Wahengbam Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Community Hall in the presence of AMKIL vice president RK Bino, Nupi Samaj president Thokchom Ramani and Tammi-Chingmi president Yambem Momon.

From there, the committee members and a number of people with torches in their hands, marched toward Sahid Minar, BT Park, Hicham Yaicham Pat at Yaiskul and Konung Mamang Traffic Island where a statue of Thangal General is erected.

The women stopped at all the three locations and paid tributes to the freedom fighters who fought against the British to save the sovereignty of Manipur.

After the march, the women activists unanimously resolved to work together to save the State from being overwhelmed by outsiders and other issues.

Patriot's Day was also observed in other parts of the State and beyond to pay respect to all the freedom fighters including Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General who laid down their lives to save Manipur from British domination.
