Zeliangrong Women's Union observes 20th foundation day

Imphal, March 13 2016: The 20th foundation day of Zeliangrong Women's Union, Tamenglong Zone was observed at Zeliangrong House, Apollo Bazaar, Tamenglong today.

The programme was attended SP Athui, chairman, Zeliangrong Union, Tamengong Zone, Hukamang Gangmei, president, Chairmen's Association, Tamengong, Lungniliu Gangmei, president, Zeliangrong Women's Union, Assam Manipur & Nagaland and Sarah Ngaomei, co-convener, Zeliangrong Women's Union, Tamenglong Zone as pre- sidium members.

Speaking at the occasion, Lungniliu Gangmei acknowl- edged the efforts of Zeliangrong Women's Union and said that the union has always worked relentlessly for the wel- fare of the area.

She stated that Zeliangrong people tend to consider their leaders as aromatic bay leaf which is discarded once its distinctive taste has been drawn out.

Their work and efforts for the well being of the people and society at large are usually forgotten once they retired.

Leaders though retired should be acknowledged and respected at all times, she added.
