KET scholarship award for students distributed

Annual Kakching Educational Trust (RET) scholarship award were distributed to outstanding students in a simple function held at the conference hall of Library and Information Centre, Kakching today.
Two students from Padma Ratna English School, Kakching, Kshetrimayum Meenakumari and Mbirangthem Rajthoi were selected from the overall category for the 12th scholarship award-2019 conferred by the KET for four years while three students from Govt schools Pukhrambam Kelvin, Practising Jr High School, Kakching; Sapam Silpa, Kakching Khunou Govt High School; and M Premchandra, Sanatombi High School, Keirak were selected for the said scholarship award for two years.
Starting this year onward, the said scholarship, which was awarded only from students of Kakching area, has also been conferred to students from other area of Kakching district.
The students were selected for the scholarship after assessing their knowledge and competency through written test followed by interview.
Six students from Govt schools were selected for interview, out of which four students were granted different scholarship awards while two students were given consolation prize.
In overall category, 14 students faced the interview and were given 10 various awards and consolation awards.
Scholarship money were also distributed to other students who were selected for the scholarship award in previous years.
Dr Naorem Giridhari, retd chief Librarian, JNIMS attended the function as chief guest while M Brojen attended the function as functional president and Dr Th Ojit, officer in-charge, Centre Council Research Homoeopathy, Imphal as guest of honour.
