Imphal, November 12 2021: Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo has categorically stated that some section of people are creating issues out of him defecting to the BJP without resigning as an MLA because of the impending State Assembly election.

"If they genuinely want me to resign then I would do so without hesitation," he added.

He said these during an inaugural ceremony of Nepra Menjor Pukhri Mapal Youth Development Association Community Hall, today.

At the function, RK Imo said that he didn't resign as election is drawing near and code of conduct could be enforced anytime soon.

"Those who are reacting are only trying to take political mileage out of the situation," the MLA said and maintained that he would not hesitate to resign if they truly want.

Continuing that he joined BJP to stabilise the incumbent coalition Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh and ensure it return to power.

"It is truly unfortunate that a section of people are trying to create issues when the election is at hand," he added.
