Prize distribution cum Teachers' Day celebration held

Free Progress Academy, Konthoujam organised a prize distribution ceremony cum Teachers' Day celebration 2024 at Konthoujam Community Hall today.
The event was attended by Dr Sapam Ranjan, Minister, Health and Family Welfare as chief guest along with KG Daigong (MCS), Director, Relief and Disaster Management; L Indrakumar Singh, Principal, Free Progress Academy; Thiyam Robindro Singh, Yurembam Zilla Parishad member; L Joy Singh, president, All Manipur Recognized Private School Welfare Association and Laishram Ratan Khuman, Managing Director, LYS Group Kwakeithel as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, the Health and Family Welfare Minister said that the State Cabinet has recently resolved to limit Government benefits, assistance etc to only villages recognized by the Government as a way to check the setting up of villages in protected areas.
Aside from this, the Government is planning to start Aadhar linked birth registration, he added.
As soon as a child is bom, the baby will be assigned an Aadhar card number, after being registered through their parents' name, he maintained.
The Minister also stressed on the importance of quality education for students to become well-rounded citizens in the future.
Meanwhile, speaking at the event, L Indrakumar Singh said that the school had provided free admission to 63 students from relief camps and extended special concessions to the needy students.
He further added that since 1997 the school has been continuously giving incentive prizes to the students who secured 1st division.
This year, the school witnessed 100% pass percentage and has, thus, awarded incentive prizes to the 44 students who secured 1st division, he said.
