Thanga man vows to donate kidney, both eyes and body

In celebration of his 70th birth anniversary, retired Life Insurance Corporation employee Ch Lukhoi from Thangalawai Sabal Leikai under Thanga Assembly Constituency has announced that he will donate one kidney, both eyes and his body.
He made the announcement during a press conference yesterday.
Elaborating on the subject, Ch Lukhoi said that he will donate one kidney to any village volunteer facing kidney failure who have put their lives on the line in remote villages and foothills to safeguard the people and property from Kuki aggression.
He has also vowed to donate both eyes in the memory of his mentor and former LIC Senior Branch Manager Late Potshangbam Bishwanta alias Tomchou.
In this regard, he said that he would like to give the gift of sight to a blind person and help them see the world around them.
Additionally, he is set to donate his body to science for the benefit of medical students in their pursuit of medical science and knowledge.
Speaking in connection with the conflict, he appealed against any conspiracy to disintegrate Manipur while adding that if Manipur is balkanised in pursuit of India's foreign politics then India's territorial integrity will also be compromised.
He urged both the Central and State Government to take action against Kuki militants and show that they cannot do as they please and further to restore peace and normalcy in the State of Manipur.
During the occasion, meira paibis of the area along with Ch Lukhoi presented simple gifts (scarves) to the media persons present at the event to honour them for the important role they have played in the conflict and also as a sign of encouragement.
Later, the gathering offered prayers for the well-being and long life of village volunteers across the State.
