Cabinet deliberates on President's visit

Together with discussing the scheduled visit of President Pranab Mukherjee to the State on April 15, the State Cabinet has given the green signal to frame Manipur Industrial and Investment Policy 2013 .
Speaking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting which was presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi, Government spokesman and Education Minister M Okendro conveyed that the Cabinet meeting discussed on enhancing security measures and to ensure no untoward incident happens during the President's visit.
The President will travel by road from Tulihal Airport to Adim Jati Shiksha Ashram.
On being queried about disappearance of articles purchased by GAD for use during visits by VVIPs to the State, Okendro said that he has no idea about the matter.
Nevertheless, he pledged to take up the matter with relevant officials.
The Cabinet, with a view to encourage investment in the industrial sector in Manipur, gave its consent to frame Manipur Industrial and Investment Policy 2013 .
It also agreed to create seven posts in Labour Department including one for Project Officer on contract basis in order to enable BPL families enjoy benefits of RSBY fully.
So far, 64678 people have been issued smart cards under the scheme out of whom 3364 people have benefited from the scheme.
Raj Polyclinic, Langol View Hospital, Shija Hospitals and Sky Hospitals are hospitals empanelled for the scheme.
The Cabinet meeting further approved appointment of Thangjam Ritarani as a Grave IV employee in School Education Department.
Thangjam Ritarani is wife of Thokchom Kiran, driver of a passenger carrier who was found killed and abandoned at Phoubakchao on March 14, Okendro conveyed.
