Imphal, December 11 2015 : Dolaithabi Barrage Project Main Canal Protection Committee has urged the Government to revamp Pukhao Dolaithabi road at the earliest.

In a statement, the committee said that the condition of the road is deteriorating due to constant plying of goods laden heavy vehicles.

Many of the vehicles which transport construction materials to the project site met with accidents due to bad road condition.

As such, there is urgent need for revamping the said road, the committee said.

On the other hand, the committee thanked Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker and local MLA Th Lokeshore for assuring the committee to repair the road in consultation with IFCD at the earliest.

In this regard, the committee urged Chief Minister O Ibobi to look into the matter and direct the authority concerned to revamp the road.
