Imphal, November 10 2024: The 16th annual function of Guru Kulla Cultural Academy (GKCA), Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai was held today at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal.

It was attended by JNMDA Imphal, Director, Pukhrambam Bilash Singh; GKCA Imphal, president, M Gunindro Singh and Eastern Zonal Cultural Council (EZCC), Kolkata, Board of Governors, member, Budha Chingtham as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Pukhrambam Bilash lauded GKCA for educating and moulding the youth in the field of art & culture.

He advised young students/ artists to follow the footsteps of their Gurus to bring more fame & laurels to the academy.

The Director also assured to provide all possible assistance to the academy in its endeavours to promote the art & culture of Manipur.

During the event, cash awards and citations were presented to "Pung" maker Moirangthem Nabadeep Singh of Heirangoithong and costume maker Laishram Saratkumar Singh of Loklaobung.

Artists of GKCA also performed Pung Cholom, Mainpuri Classical Group Dance, Solo Bharatanatyam Dance, Pala Cholom and Dhol Dhulok Cholom.
