5 join BJP during enrolment drive

The State BJP unit today welcomed five persons with different political affiliation to its fold as part of its mass membership enrolment drive.
Five persons who joined the BJP today are Phijam Pakchao Singh, ex-candidate of CPI, Lamshang AC; Meisnam Mangi Singh, pradhan of Potshangbam GP; Okram Ibungobi Singh, ward member of Awang Wabagai, Potshangbam GP; Khundongbam Dhiren Singh, ward member, Potshangbam GP and M (O) Purnima Devi, ward member of Potshangbam GP.
Addressing a press meet cum felicitation ceremony of new members today at its office located at Nityapat Chuthek, State BJP unit president Th Chaoba said Constituency level conference has been organised by the party as part of its membership drive.
Counselling activity would soon be launched in the hill districts.
Meanwhile, Th Chaoba also said that the party has also invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to grace the Sangai Festival's closing ceremony although the PM is yet to give his response to the invitation of the State Govt.He said that the party is expecting a response from the PM within a couple of days.
If the PM comes to the State, it would be a significant one as it would be his maiden visit to the NE after becoming the Prime Minister.
Modi will also inaugurate the Dil Dayal Hall at the party office if he happens to visit the State, Chaoba said.
