Ukhrul, September 10 2019: Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Tangkhul students body today sealed the Ukhrul District Transport Office indefinitely.

The president of TKS Shimsaphang expressed that the students body is compelled to lock the District Transport Office indefinitely as the prolong absence of District Transport Officer has paralysed the office for more than three months despite of repeated warnings and approached to CM and DC, Ukhrul to look into the matter.

The president further mentioned that the irregularities of the staff and absence of DTO in the office is intolerable.

He pointed out the public are suffering due to pending in issuing smart card driving license and other officials work for many months due to absense of authorised transport officer to execute necessary office procedures for obtaining the license in time.

According to a reliable source, a new DTO has been posted for Ukhrul district, however no reports of joining in the office reported so far.

As such, TKS urged the State Govt for immediate arrangements and posting of DTO, failing which TKS will resort into different forms of agitation until their demand and the need of public are fulfilled.
