The Director of the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM) Kh Somorendro has made wrong statement while trying to conceal his guilty of corruption, the Students' Federation of India (SFI) alleged in a press release.
The SFI further questioned that if there is no question of misappropriation of funds by him, then why he did not challenge the office order of NCCT, which charged him of misappropriation of office fund.
The press release further conveyed that SFI levelled the charge of corruption against incumbent director of ICM, Kh Somorendro as the Enquiry Team of NCCT conducted under Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964 has charged him of financial misappropriation on December 23 last year.
NCCT New Delhi had earlier given him penalty of force leave for a period of six months on the charge of corruption, it added.
In addition to it, his increment was also withheld on May 6, 2014 by order of the NCCT New Delhi, the release conveyed.
NCCT New Delhi has stayed back the transfer order of Somorendro for few months, it said and added this has rendered an institution of the Government of India like a local club.
This practice of NCCT is sheer encouragement of corruption, the SFI charged.
The SFI also denounced the sending of DO letter on August 4 last to the Union Agriculture Minister by the State BJP President Th Chaoba Singh urging the Minister to stay back the transfer order of Kh Somorendro.
Such act of nepotism is against the goodwill of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi who is campaigning against corruption, it added.
