11 AR in the service of Tamenglong people

Tamenglong, June 10 2011:
The 11 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division has presented various items including sports items like Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Volleyball Net, Black board, Skipping Ropes, Throwing Rings and Gas operated Petromax to the Namrijinang Education Ministry, an orphanage at Tamenglong on its 7th Foundation.
The items were presented for the general welfare and well being of the children of the orphanage and this noble gesture by the Security Forces will certainly bring hope and aspiration to the children of the orphanage, a statement of the 11 AR said.
The Assam Rifles Battalion at Tamenglong has been providing support to the orphanage or earlier occasions also including distribution of free meals and provision of free Medical checkup for children of the orphanage.
All the children and authorities of the orphanage expressed their deep gratitude towards Security Forces for providing various assistances to them, it added.
The personnel of the same troops at Khongsang camp has rescued three accident victims and save their precious live on on June 3 last.
A Maruti Van vehicle (AS 11-B 9638) going from Awangkhul to Khongsang went down the gorge on NH-37 at 8 pm due to break failure.
Rescue Party from 11 Assam Rifles Camp including medical team at Khongsang immediately rushed to the accident site on receiving the information.
In the accident Robindro Singh (18) son of Loilto of Khumbong village was critically injured in the accident.
Other injured persons were evacuated to Tamenglong district hospital after first aid was given by 11 Assam Rifles Medical Staff.
Robindro Singh was kept at Khongsang till his condition stabilized and than evacuated to Imphal.
The rescue in time saved the precious lives of accident victims.
This humane endeavor by 11 AR is highly appreciated, the statement added.
Meanwhile, a track from Barak to L Pabram village was constructed by Security Forces bringing hope and aspirations to the village.
This approx two km track was constructed by widening the existing foot track so that vehicles and other development work can reach village.
The construction work started from April 21, 2011.Months of dedicated effort by 21 men and a dozer that was provided by Red Shield Division made this dream project of Longdi Pabram villagers a reality.
The chairman of the village on behalf of entire village has expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to the Security Forces, who worked day and night, in rain and scorching sun for the public cause.
The newly constructed track will not only save time and effort required to reach village but will also speed up the development works.
It may be noted that these villages of Tamenglong district are famous for oranges and connecting these village with main roads will certainly boost the orange trade in the Region.
The Security Force deployed in Zeliangrong inhabited area of Tamenglong District has been doing many such meaningful MCA projects to bring succor to the people of Tamenglong and has pledged to continue its effort towards progressive and prosperous Tamenglong, it added.
