Imphal, February 10 2025: A sit-in protest was staged today at Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Community Hall condemning the planting of a hand grenade at the residence of Konjengbam Jeeten in Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai on Monday night.

Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai Meira Paibi Social Welfare secretary Khuraijam Ruhini said that the people of Khagempalli area take the planting of a hand grenade at the gate of Konjengbam Jeeten (57), son of Kongjengbam Chaoba very seriously.

She urged all concerned to not repeat such acts in the future and added that the unfortunate incident has created more tension among the public who are already reeling due to the ongoing conflict.

Ruhini also appealed to all concerned to not cause fear among the people and solve any issue through negotiation.

At the sit-in, the protesters also displayed placards with the writings such as, "We condemn planting of bombs in residential areas", "Stop terrifying civilians", etc.
