Jiribam, June 09 2020:
Following persistent efforts of the All Jiribam United Clubs Association (AJUCA) to address the issue of shortage of healthcare facilities in Jiribam district, the Government sent some doctors to the district but many of them have been transferred away while some others are queuing up to leave the place, said AJUCA.
Speaking to media persons, AJUCA vice-president M Premchandra Singh stated that while the medical team and CSOs of the district, including AJUCA volunteers, are working under pressure in attending to the returnees, a doctor/specialist who was deployed to Jiribam hospital just two months ago has been transferred out.
AJUCA has denounced the transfer of the specialist, saying that a replacement should be sent in case a doctor is being transferred out.
In this regard, AJUCA has requested the Deputy Medical Superintendent and the Chief Medical Officer of Jiribam not to release the particular specialist until a replacement has been sent.
It also appealed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Health Minister to look into the matter and take up necessary action.
