Reconciliation Day observed widely

To commemorate the historic 'Seven Years Devastation' and Death Anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh, Reconciliation Day, 2025 was observed widely across the State and Assam today.
Hojai, Assam
Under the initiative of the Art and Culture Department, Government of Manipur, the United Literary Educational, Social and Cultural Organisation (ULESCO), Manipur and Manipuri Culture and Sports Development Society, Hojai today organized Reconciliation Day at Hojai, Assam.
As part of the programme, floral tributes were offered on the portraits of Maharaj Gambhir Singh, Nara Singh, Sana Herachandra and other martyrs.
Floral tributes were also paid to martyrs who have sacrificed their lives in the ongoing conflict and a two minute silence was also observed for the departed souls to rest in peace.
The commemoration event held under the theme "Eikhoi Amuk Hanna Khuntaklaroi" was attended by ULESCO, Manipur, president Soyam Chaoba, Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Hojai District Committee, president Tensubam Manhihar, vice-president, N Bidya, FOCS president, Th Manihar, PALEM president, K Jibanmala and Moirangthem Indrajit, managing director of Khoiyumgi Mapao YouTube channel.
Later an award distribution ceremony was also held as part of the ceremony.
Wahengbam Joybabu was awarded Chinglen Nongdrenkhomba Gambhir Singh Khonga Award while Karam Raju Kumar was awarded the Chingthanglen Pamheiba Nara Singh Khonga Award and Athouba Sana Herachandra Khonga Award to Khaidem Thoiba, president of AMMIK .
Thoubal
Reconciliation Observation Day, 2025 was also observed today at the office campus of Anjuman Islah-e-Moushara of United Meitei Pangal Committee (UMPC) located at Lilong in Thoubal district.
The event held under the theme "Peace, Integrity and Eradication of Anti-Social Elements" was organised by UMPC, Manipur.
The event was attended by president of UMPC, Manipur, Alhaj Moulana Muheiyddin as functional president along with various Meitei-Pangal CSO leaders.
Dr Syed Ahmed and UMPC, Manipur, advisor Dr Badaruddin also attended the event as resource persons.
Bishnupur
To commemorate the death anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh, Reconciliation Day, 2025 was celebrated today at Wangoo Naodakhong.
The event organised by Peoples' Organisation Manipur (IPOM) was attended by Manipur University, retd Professor, W Nabakumar, IPOM president, Advocate Y Devdutta, FOCS vice president, BM Yaima Shah, Maring Uparap Assembly, president K Yaima Koshil, Kabui Union Manipur, vice-president Lanbon Kabui and social activist, Areng Zatak.
The speakers at the event underscored the importance of building unity among the indigenous community of Manipur to paved way for a bright future Manipur based on the Idea of Manipur.
The event was also attended by various CSOs and people from different parts of the State.
