Imphal, October 08 2024: Lions Club of Imphal celebrated Lions World Service Day-2024 at Vision Kid, Kwakeithel Moirang Purel on Tuesday.

As part of the celebration, Lions Club of Imphal led by president O Ranjit Singh distributed food items to about 40 students of Vision Kid, said a release issued by Lions Club of Imphal.

At the event, past district governor H Manikumar said that after the formation of Lions Club in June 1917 with the initiative of Melvin Jones, its first National Convention was held at Dallas, Texas on October 8, 1917 in which the constitution, bye-laws and code of ethics were created.

"In order to remember this day, Lions Clubs across the globe observe Lions World Service Day every year on October 8 by doing service activities for the welfare of the community", he added.

Founder of Vision Kid, Thounaojam Bipin expressed his appreciation to Lions Club of Imphal for celebrating such an important day of the Club along with the students of his school.
