Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar launched Intensified Mission Indradhanush at the premises of Family Welfare Services Directorate today morning .
Speaking at the occasion, L Jayantakumar said improving the health status of children is a must in order to make the State a resourceful, strong and vibrant one .
He further said that children are often known as the backbone of a State or Nation.
As such, in order to mould them, their health should be improved .
Timely and proper immunization of children and mother is necessary .
The high success rate achieved by Manipur in Mission Indradhanush implementation is the result of the importance given by all stakeholders including doctors, nurses and the public .
Remote areas of the State will be given greater focus under Intensified Mission Indradhanush, the Minister said .
Jayantakumar also said that the State would not be able to produce the 8 players of U-17 FIFA World Cup in the India squad had these boys not been given proper immunization.
He urged all concerned to produce more healthy players from the State in future .
On the mob incident at Bishnupur District Hospital following the death of a patient a couple of days back, L Jayantakumar urged all concerned to refrain from vandalism at hospitals.
Destruction of hospital properties and equipment will result in victimisation of other patients .
The programme was also attended by MLA S Subhashchandra Singh, Secretary Health and Family Welfare Sumant Singh, Director of Family Welfare Services Dr K Rajo Singh and Director, Dept of Ayush Dr Guneshwar Sharma.
