MBA condemns Delhi blast

The High Court Bar Association Manipur has strongly condemned the bomb blast at Delhi High Court on September 7.As a mark of protest members of the Bar today abstained from attending the Court.
In an emergency executive committee meeting at its office here chaired by senior advocate and President of the Bar N Kumarjit Singh, the Association unanimously resolved to condemn the bomb blast just outside Delhi HC which killed 12 persons and injured many others.
"Such wanton assault is an act of terrorism and should not be repeated again," it said.
The meeting also resolved that "the secretary, High Court Bar Association, Manipur shall submit representations through Registry, Gauhati HC, Imphal Bench to the state authorities to implement adequate security measures in the Gauhati HC Imphal Bench premises in view of the recent bomb attack at Delhi HC as well as in many places in Manipur" .
The president of the Bar further described the blast as a wanton assault on the judiciary, intolerably grave and highly dangerous.
"The court is one of the highest institutions of the state where the citizens come to have their grievances addressed," he said and recalled that within the premises of the Imphal bench of the Gauhati HC too there have been instances of bomb scare some 7-8 years ago.
