DFO Ukhrul inaugurates Hunphun VDVK Haat Bazar

Ukhrul, June 08 2022: DFO Ukhrul, Shanngam Shaliwo on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed "Hunphun VDVK Haat Bazar" at Tangrei in Ukhrul town.

The market shed was handed over to Hunphun Phungcham Federation (HPF) in the presence of DIC General Manager, Themreiyo T Awungshi; pastor Zaklei Kaping; SHGs members and well wishers.

Speaking on the occasion, Shanngam Shaliwo acknowledged the hard work put in by women to sustain their families in spite of all the untold hardships.

He also elaborated on the measures taken up by the State Government to empower women and bring economical change in the society by utilising all available resources.

Themreiyo T Awungshi spoke on various schemes initiated by the Government to provide assistance to the public including PMEGP and MSME.

Rinchuila Ragui, secretary HPF informed that VDVK Haat was constructed under TRIFED Manipur and executed by Ukhrul District Forest Division.

"HPF is composed of 20 SHGs from Hunphun/Ukhrul village.

The District Forest Department provides assistance including cash support as seed money to start new business to SHGs", she added.

Around 150 members attended the inaugural function held at Tangrei Bazar, Ukhrul.
