Imphal, April 08 2024: Rice under National Food Security Act (NFSA) for three months was provided to all the beneficiaries under Fair Price Shop Number 93 at Kongba Nongthombam Leikai Lampak today.

Staff of Imphal East District FCS Office distributed the rice to all the beneficiaries from Kongba Nongthombam Leikai, Laishram Leikai and Thambalkhong areas.

Speaking to the media, CAF & PD, Civil Supply Inspector, Karnajit Chanambam said that rice was distributed for three months from November 2023- January 2024 .

He also announced that rice under NFSA for the months of February 2024 will be distributed to all the beneficiaries from Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency soon.

He continued that the Department has been making efforts to distribute the NFSA rice to the people in a timely manner but the distribution process was delayed as many people of Kshetrigao AC were found without NFSA cards.

"After receiving information that cards were provided to the people yesterday by Fair Price Shops, the Department took necessary steps to begin distributing the rice from today", he added.
