Kangpokpi, April 08 2013: The QRT (Quick Reaction Team) of Kangpokpi Police today seized a large quantity of liquor at around 7:40 pm.

According to the police source, a total of 1000 litres of liquor worth approximately 60,000 in local market were seized from an unauthorized possession of Henga (43) w/o Kaba and Hinga (40) w/o James, of Senapati town.

The two women were supposed to transport the seized item to Maram by a Bolero Camper jeep (AR 15/0140) .

The duo along with the liquor were stopped by police at the police station gate and while frisking and checking they detected the seized item thereby apprehending them.

The vehicle was driven by one Thomas (28) s/o Kaba.

They are coming from Awang Sekmai heading towards Senapati, added the police source.

While the source further added that, the seized item will be destroy tomorrow morning in the presence of local civil bodies including Kanggui Town Committee, KWWO and KYU, this is the largest seizure of liquor by the Kangpokpi Police so far.
