GOC-in-C Eastern Command calls on Governor, CM

Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command arrived in Manipur yesterday for his two-day visit to field formations and forward areas of Assam Rifles and Indian Army.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed in detail by various Commanders on ground about the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.
The General Officer expressed his satisfaction on the security measures and operational preparedness of the security forces.
He complimented the troops of both the security forces for carrying out a commendable job with regards to efficiently managing the security situation in the State.
Earlier, the Eastern Army Commander accompanied by General Officer Commanding Spear Corps and IG Assam Rifles (South) met Governor Dr Najma Heptulla at Raj Bhavan yesterday.
The General Officer apprised the Governor of the actions being taken by Indian Army and Assam Rifles in coordination with other agencies, towards maintenance of peace & security in the State.
The Governor appreciated the untiring efforts of the forces in difficult conditions and complimented them for carrying out people friendly operations.
Later in the day, Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan also interacted with Chief Minister N Biren and discussed the security situations in Manipur.
