Imphal, January 08 2018:
Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) has cautioned the Zeliangrong people to abstain from the two-day convention organised by Rongmei Naga People's Organisation (RNPO) to be held at Tamenglong District Headquarters from today.
In a press release, ZB (AMN) also cautioned the Zeliangrong people not to be a part of the group with vested interest, who are all out to bring disunity and break the oneness of the Zeliangrong community.
It contended that maximum efforts have been made by the non-mandated people's organisation RNPO to mislead the general public on some unrealistic reasons completely paradoxical to the history and genesis of the Zeliangrong people.
It stated that the apex body of the Zeliangrong people is the only legitimate authority to call a convention on serious issues pertaining to internal security and external threat.
A convention meant for the Zeliangrong people cannot be called by sectarian groups just to suit their vested interests, it stated.
ZB (AMN) in the release also stated that any village headman and other concerned persons attending the convention would amount to giving away the authority and inherent rights to those individuals to freely carry out their vested interests.
Any resolutions or declarations adopted in the convention will not be binding on the Zeliangrong people hence the convention is null and void, it made it clear.
