Taphou Phyamai celebrates Laonii

Senapati, July 07 2022: The 4-days long Laonii Festival began on Wednesday at Taphou Phyamai village in Senapati district.

Laonii is a seed sowing festival which is celebrated to relax and enjoy after a long and tiresome work in the fields.

The second day of the festival was attended by N Kayisii, MLA 49-Tadubi AC and Dr V Alexander Pao, Village Headman as chief guest & chief host respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr V Alexander thanked God for the beautiful day and stated that festivals are celebrated not only to eat and drink but to build love and understanding among all.

Traditional dance, folk songs and other cultural items marked the celebration.
