Locals of Langol Lairembi appeal

Locals of Lamphelpat Langol Lairembi have appealed to all concerned to refrain from dumping solid waste collected from quarantine centres at once near Kangchup Road Young Physical & Sports Association (KRYPHS A) ground at Lamphelpat.
Speaking to media persons, general secretary of Langol Pioneer Club cum joint secretary of KRYPHSA, Shamom Druba said that though an agreement was signed with the department concerned to check disposal of solid waste in the area, the dumping practice started.
On querying, they responded that they have a permit issued by the DC, he said and added that all the waste came from quarantine centres.
Those who came to dump solid waste wore PPE, however, instead of burying the waste materials, they burnt it, Druba rued and added that the leftover of the waste materials might be spread into residential areas by birds and animals and increased the risk of COVID-19 infections.
He then appealed to all concerned to stop dumping solid waste in the said site.
Langol Pioneer Club, KRYPHSA, Thongal Lairembi Masaigol Semgat Sagat Apunba Nupi Lup, Lairembi Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup, Yumjao Nganbi Apunba Nupi Lup also cautioned that unwanted incidents might arise if the dumping continues.
