12th foundation day observed

Bishnupur, November 05 2017: The 12 foundation day of Loumi-Sinmi Apunba Lup, Bishnupur district, was organised at the associations’ office at Ningthoukhong Kha Khunou under the motto Self Reliant Economy and with the slogan of Chinjakta Mipal Tangdaba .

Deputy Director of Agriculture, Manipur, Dr T Holen Singh, Loumi-Sinmi Apunba Lup president M Robat and All Manipur Progressive Farmers; Association L Dhono Meitei attended the event as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

Numerous farmers from the district also participated in the event .

On the other hand, Advance Intermediate College lecturer H Doleshore Singh spoke on the difficulties faced by the farmers and methods to eliminate these hurdles, as the resource person.

Speaking at the event, Dr T Holen said that rain water harvesting technique is critical taking into account the recent trend of incessant rainfall and constant dry conditions .

He also stated that plans to dig various ponds are in line as well and urged the farmers to form cluster farms to enable the Department to dig the said ponds .

Dr T Holen also urged the farmers to offer full cooperation to the State Government and the Department to double the income of the farmers by the year 2022 .
