BJP committed to people's welfare, says Sharda

BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda has asserted that the party is committed to ensure wellbeing of all the people through a strong and stable Government.
Commemorating completion of eight years in office by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Sal Sewa Sushasan Aur Garib Kalyan Rally was held today at Chumthang Playground, Langthabal Phura Makhong under the aegis of BJP Imphal West.
Speaking at the rally, A Sharda claimed that the many welfare programmes launched by Prime Minister Narendra are a testimony of his commitment to people's welfare.
For the first time, Manipur has seen a Govern ment which is seriously concerned about what the needs and aspirations of its people, she said.
Sharda went on to claim that India's position and prestige has grown considerable at the international level since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014 .
Before the Modi Government was installed, people did not know the meaning of freedom or independence but today all the people of the country can enjoy the real taste of freedom and dignity, she said.
Saying that the State Government's War on Drugs is closely linked with the World Environment Day, the BJP State unit president asserted that the landslides/mudslides witnessed regularly at Kangpokpi area were triggered by drastic disturbance to ecological balance.
All the programmes/policies taken up by the Central Government and the State Government are meant for the welfare of people and they are guided by long term visions, she continued.
It was the unplanned ad-hoc measures of the past which led to severe environmental degradation.
Extensive poppy plantation on hill ranges after clearing forest areas has become a very serious challenge to environment and ecology, Sharda said and appealed to all the people to plant tree saplings.
She also sought people's cooperation to the Government's initiative aimed at checking environmental degradation.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr S Rajen, BJP MLAs from Imphal West district and many key leaders of BJP too attended the rally.
